Built by a Mother and Son
In 2016, Tommie Rowland and her son Jim Lentz opened Premier Shooting & Training Center in West Chester, Ohio. The vision behind it traces back to Tommie’s late husband Myron Rowland, the driving force in shaping what the facility would become. Tommie and Jim carried that vision forward, building something the Cincinnati area didn’t have: not just a range, but a destination where shooting, training, community, and recreation could all happen in the same afternoon.
Tommie brought decades of business experience to the project. Previously co-owner of General Revenue Corp. with Myron, and owner of Jag’s Restaurant. She also brought something harder to build: a genuine commitment to the community around her. She has been involved in food drives for Princeton Village, Toys for Tots, Give Vets 22, self-defense classes for ARC Abuse Shelter, the Birthday Angels (a philanthropic group of Wetherington women), and Reach Out Lakota.
From the beginning, the facility was designed to be more than its lanes. Two stocked fishing lakes. A strength and conditioning center. A dojo hosting world-class martial arts academies. A full wellness program with Saturday classes, massage, and monthly specialty events open to the public. And eventually, Tommie’s Place: an upscale speakeasy lounge named after the woman who carried it all through.
